How to Play Spin a Superhero

The full RNG tycoon loop — spin, place, sell, collect, repeat.

How to Play

How to play Spin a Superhero is a resource puzzle wearing a superhero skin. Chill Games’ own description is the rulebook: earn money by placing characters on plots or selling them, spin Dice for new heroes and villains, rebirth for benefits, hatch Pets for Luck. Everything else on this wiki is a detail hanging off that sentence.

If you have not redeemed codes or joined the group yet, do that on Getting Started first. This page assumes a working HUD.

The core loop

  1. Buy Dice in Store with Coins (or spend coded Dice).
  2. Spin and receive a unit with a rarity tag.
  3. Place it on an empty pad, or swap it onto a weaker pad.
  4. Sell the leftover if it is not worth inventory space.
  5. Collect Coins that pads generate, including while you are offline. The logout ritual is on offline earnings.
  6. Repeat until Rebirth, a new floor, or Fuse is the better button.

You are not fighting other plots. Servers hold eight players, Friend Boost can raise income, and Trading exists as of the TRADING code, but your Coins per second still come from your pads. Treat other players as optional boosts and trade partners, not as the win condition.

Pads beat inventory

An idle tycoon only prints from occupied slots. If you roll a Common and you have an empty pad, place it. If you roll a better rarity than pad 7, swap and sell the old unit. If you roll worse than every pad, sell immediately and buy another Dice. Hoarding Commons in a backpack while pads sit empty is the most expensive habit in the game.

Numbered pads on the floor are your real build. Index is a collection log, not a second plot. Flexing Index completion is fine after the plot is dense.

Selling without griefing yourself

Sell when:

  • The unit is worse than your worst pad
  • You need Coins for the next Dice tier and the unit is a duplicate
  • You are one Rebirth short and the unit will not survive the wipe anyway

Do not sell when:

  • It is your only copy of a high rarity (Apex / Sacred / Transcendent)
  • Fuse might consume it more efficiently — check Fuse
  • Trading could move it to a player who will pay more than shop value — see Fuse and Trading

Shop sell value is a convenience, not a market. If Trading is unlocked, look there before you dump a rare duplicate.

Currencies

Coins are the workhorse. They buy Dice. HEROES is the code that prints them. Plot income is the rest.

Gems are the premium lane. FLOOR3, TRANSCENDENT, and RELEASE each paid 250. Spend them on Luck, Pets, or Dice skips only after you have compared the price to grinding Coins. Gems wasted on panic skips are Gems you will want on Phantom-adjacent shop rows later.

Dice are items, not currency, but they behave like a wallet. Golden, Diamond, Heaven, Devil, and Phantom are stored until you spin them. Do not open a high Dice because you are bored. Open them on a Luck potion or a Pet-buffed session. The dice guide is the full ranking.

HUD systems you should actually click

Store — Dice, Gems, Codes. Visit after every patch. Rebirth — prestige. Read rebirth before you press it. Pets — Luck. Read Pets and Luck. Index — collection. Use it to learn rarity names, not as a to-do list for hour one. Rewards / Quests — free drips. Claim on login. Friends — Friend Boost. Party with people who will stay in the eight-player server. Settings — audio and quality. Lowering effects helps on phones when many units animate.

Luck is a session, not a personality trait

Luck comes from Pets, potions (LUCK2), and Dice quality. It does not come from spinning faster. Rapid Regular Dice with no Pets is a Coin sink. Stack a Luck window, then dump Golden or Diamond Dice in one sitting. That is the same advice as every Spin-a clone, and it is correct here because Chill Games shipped a Prismatic Potion code instead of a pity timer we can see.

Official art puts Apex at 1 in 100K and Sacred at 1 in 500K. Those headlines are why Phantom Dice and potions exist. Plan around them with the rarity index instead of expecting Regular Dice to print a thumbnail unit.

Offline and session length

Place units, then leave. The game is built for that. A twenty-minute session that fills pads plus a code redeem beats a two-hour session of staring at Commons. Come back, sell upgrades, claim Quests, log out again.

If you can only play on mobile between classes, do the Store and pad work, not the Fuse min-max. Fuse is for a longer sitting; see Fuse.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for codes, dice, rebirths, and plot income.

How do you make money in Spin a Superhero?

Place units on plot pads so they generate Coins, including offline. Selling extras is a side income, not the main engine.

Should I sell every Common?

Only if every pad is already filled with something better. An empty pad earns zero. A Common on a pad earns something.

Does Friend Boost change Dice luck?

No. Friend Boost raises plot income when friends share the server. Luck comes from Pets, potions, and Dice type.

Is there combat or a story campaign?

No. It is an RNG tycoon. The skill is economy: pads, Dice, Pets, Rebirth, Fuse, and Trading.
